Bio
I grew up and lived in the southeast until about 5 years ago when I finally made it out to Denver. I sold my house, quit my job, and set out on a life-long aspiration to move out west.
I have been a bit of a nomad, professionally. I've had good tenure with the organizations I worked with, but for a long time I was searching for a role that really utilized my personality & skill set. I've been a part of a business development team, a project management consultant, sold hygiene products across the state of South Carolina, then travelled the country selling packaging by the ton. All served as good learning experiences, but all were really just "jobs". I felt depleted and a little disengaged at the end of most days.
After moving to Denver, I began networking and landed an opportunity to work with CIENCE Technologies. They were the biggest outbound lead gen company at that time and they were exploding. Within about 1 year I had learned more from my time at CIENCE than I had my entire previous career. I sold -- and still sell -- growth strategies. And every day is dense with creative conversations with business leaders in all types of industries and company sizes. I love it. I'm not selling a product, I'm setting up a partnership to create value where there was none. And when I check out after my busiest days, I leave energized.
I have since moved on from CIENCE and have taken my experience to a leadership position with GenSales. It is a stable, 23-year-old company, and our owner, David, has recently pivoted his entire mindset to that of a start-up founder. I'm in a fun environment where we are investing in growth and testing out changes in all aspects of our company - client services, operations, marketing, and sales. It's a new challenge for me, but I feel well-suited to make a really positive impact.
I currently live a few blocks from Sloan's Lake Park with my wife, Zulet, and our 1st baby, Emilia (7 months). We love getting her out to the park and hanging out with all the family and friends we have around Denver. Personally, I love to cook, golf, play a little guitar, and catch up with some longtime friends that have also made the pilgrimage from the Atlanta suburbs to Denver.
